TERRESTRIAL ECOSYSTEM: FOOD CHAIN

Anna, Jordi, Laura and Marc
6th grade- Class B
We have been working on this food chain:

The grass acts as a producer. Producers feed themselves throught the photosynthesis.

The grasshopper eats grass and acts as a primary consumer.

The snake eats the grasshopper and acts as a secondary consumer.

The hawk eats the snake and acts as a tertiary consumer.

Finally the hawk's excrements or body are decomposed by fungi that also act as nutrients to the soil and help the grass to grow.

We are looking forward to reading your comments!

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC: FOOD CHAINS

Dear Students,
Here you'll find an interesting video about food chains from the National Geographic's web site. You'll have to watch it and fill out the worksheet given to you in the class, in pairs.
